Some Mobile Pictures....

I've been taking different pictures on my phone when we forget to bring the regular camera (which is often it seems). So here is a post to show off some of these mobile photos.

Easter Bunny visit at Crabtree Valley Mall!
Kyle buzzing his own hair...and the finished "product"!
Kayleigh got new glasses for distance vision. She loves them!
Kayleigh won the Character Recognition Award (I think that's what it was called) for 3rd Quarter at school. Here she is with Dr. Ryan (principal) getting her award. This is for showing good character and resposibility!
Tumbling...literally!! Kyle LOVED his tumbling class at the rec center. Here he is in the doughnut! And doing hand and head stands on the last day.
Daisy awards night!! Allie had her end of year pizza party and awards on this past Friday night. She got 5 or 6 new patches, and 2 new petals for her uniform...now to figure out how to sew!!
And on Sunday Kayleigh had her end of year picnic with her Brownie troop. They didn't do awards since they did that at their Bridging ceremony a few weeks ago, but we did get a group photo! The girls have a couple more Girl Scout events before the summer break....oh and they have sleep-away-camp!!

Bikes, Slides, & Toys Oh My....

So we've been pretty busy the past couple days, but nothing new there, right!

So Allie has been getting birthday cards in the mail this past week, and has been very anxious to spend her birthday money. She started out at Target with a gift card from Grandma & Grandpa McMillion. And the end result...a Barbie Cooking Show set. It has cameras and a fridge and a cooking center just like on the food shows.
And tonight she went to ToysRUs to spend some gift cards and cash she had gotten. A special thanks to Aunt Bonnie, Great Grandma Nadine, Aunt Sam & Uncle Jerry, the Wild, Wonderful Walters family, and 2 friends from her class (came to her party), Ansula and Meghan...Allie had $114 to spend at ToysRUs ($50 of which was gift cards)...and the end result...

So that concludes the "toys" section of this post. Today was also a big day for the girls in that their training wheels were removed from their bikes this morning. Kyle had his removed a couple days ago. They aren't great at it, but everyone it trying. Kyle does better when the girls aren't around, so we have been working on his in the morning while both girls are gone at school. Here he is, trying his hardest...

And the girls each had their turns as well...they both did good. Kayleigh has great balance but is scared to death to do it...Allie has no balance whatsoever but isn't scared. It was quite the morning. Sadly I don't have any video or pictures of Allie trying...we couldn't get her upright long enough to get anything good, maybe tomorrow...

And lastly, we went to a local waterpark this afternoon for some poolside fun. The kids had a blast, we are all worn out, and can't wait to go again. Kayleigh tried out the big water slides they had, and they had plenty of smaller slides for all the kids to use. There was a 2 ft section that they loved playing in...all three could play comfortably there...there was also a baby pool section (1 ft) and a sandbox, and a sprayground (which they only got to use briefly before it was closed due to some issue with water pressure). It was a fun day...

LoveSac

Our giant beanbag seat...Kyle loves sleeping here, and so does Kallie...

Ice Skating...

I forgot to post this back when we did it, so figured I'd share with you now. We went driving one day to find a "Welcome to Virginia" sign so that we could take a picture and use it as our new address picture. Anyways, we finally found one but past it...so we went to turn around and go back to it, and found a totally frozen over river. And there were lots of people skating on it. We didn't have skates, but decided to take the kids down there anyways. So, here are the kids on the ice and borrowing someone's sled to sled across the river. So much fun, we are going to have to go back next year...if we can find it again.

Girl Scout Stuff....

With this year winding down, thought I'd share some of the girls Girl Scout stuff from since we've moved up here. They have done tons of thing, something almost every weekend. They have gone to an American Girl event (earned their Historical Fiction patch), Bowling (bowling patch), the circus, the firehouse (Allie's troop), did some school grounds clean-up (Kayleigh's troop), Daddy daughter dance, Mommy daughter tea, GMU softball clinic...and so much more. Here are some highlights...well what we have pictures of. :-)

And check back soon for some birthday party pics from this year!!

Kayleigh is a Brownie, again!! On May 11, her Daisy troop bridged over to Brownies. This was excited for her, even though she's been a Brownie before in NC. But because of how things worked out and her changing troops, she didn't get to actually do a bridging ceremony there...and then we came up here and they didn't have a Brownie troop that would take a 1st grader, since all their 1st graders were Daisys. So confusing, but she didn't mind being a Daisy and working on a few things she hadn't earned in Daisy's in NC. But now she's a Brownie, and looking forward to the next 2 years of fun!! Oh, and daddy is so confused with all these ceremonies...he thought she had already bridged, because he attended an investeture ceremony with her in NC. I was trying to explain the differences to him, but he prefers to just be told where and when he needs to be somewhere. LOL :-) Oh, there is a short video at the bottom of her bridging.

Proud little Brownie...she kept asking if she could eat a Brownie that night!

Her whole Brownie troop...all these girls are in 1st grade at the same school, which is really fun for Kayleigh!!

Playing infield at George Mason University softball field after watching a game.
Earlier in April, the girls got the chance to go to a Girl Scout Softball clinic with the softball team from George Mason University. Even though they aren't playing this season they really wanted to do this. And I think it has sparked their interest again in girls softball (as long as they don't have to play with boys, as they say). So fall ball here we come!!!

Practicing throwing back and forth...last two on end near GMU players.

Also in April the girls and daddy attended our local Daddy & daughter dance. They even had corsages and boutinneres for them to wear. They had a really good time out together...

Quick Updates....

We are all doing well here!

Kyle got his staples out a week ago, and his head is healing well now.

The girls love school and all their friends. We can't wait till Spring when all the kids can go out and play together in the neighborhood.

We had an adventure in shoe shopping this past weekend. It was time for all 3 kids to get new sneakers...what a task that was. Two different malls and tons of shoe stores. Maybe we were too picky or something, but it seemed to take forever to find what we wanted for them and what they wanted. But with all the walking we do now they needed a good solid shoe. But we finally found all 3 of them sneakers Sunday night. And in the chaos of it all we found a nice Outlet mall, and not one, but two Lego stores. Kayleigh spent her remaining birthday money at the Lego store...thanks to the Walters, Great Grandma Nadine, and Aunt Bonnie.

And on the sad side...at least to me. My girls have decided that they don't want to play softball anymore...they'd rather swim! I was so looking forward to softball season, but I guess it'll be poolside for me instead. I'm definitely going to ask them again in the fall, once they've had tons of swimming over the summer. But for now, they start 2 time a week swim lessons in April. They will most likely continue those (moving up in levels as needed) until the end of June and probably again in August. July will be our traveling month of the summer. Maybe I can get Kyle to be my ball player...as soon as he's old enough.

Well that's it for now...I think. I'll post of our ice skating on the river soon...with pics!

Showing off...

Just wanted to show off Kyle's battle wound. It looks so painful, but he hasn't complained too much about it....mostly just if he gets in trouble. I guess he thinks he'll get out of trouble if he's in pain....hasn't worked yet. LOL

And so we begin...

I was inspired by a friend of mine who blogs to start a blog of my own...or should I say our own. It is intended to be mostly about the kids and their adventures as a way to keep friends and family up to date on their lives. So, I sat down earlier this afternoon to start, and what do you know we had adventure right from the start. I heard a bang followed by a screaming little boy. Kyle had flipped his chair over from the dining table and hit his head on a column that I think is intended to separate our living room from our dining area. So off to the ER we went. A few hours later we are home and Kyle has 2 staples in the side of his head, along with a good chunk of hair missing. And so the adventures begin....
